Arthur B. “Skip” Carlson is a Colorado native. Skip is married and has 3 children, 2 step children and 3 grandchildren.

 

He graduated for Galeton High School (which no longer exists) and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Math.

 

From 1968 to 1972, Skip was the 4-H Agent for the Tri-River Area.

 

From 1972 to 1976 he was the first Director of the Colorado 4-H and Youth Foundation.

 

From 1976 to 1978 he was an insurance agent for Northwestern Mutual Life.

 

From 1978 to 1981 Skip was the Secretary Manager for Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Insurance. He managed 126 agents and ran an office staff of 45.

 

From 1981 to 1984 he was farming in Weld County.

 

From 1984 to 2000 Skip went back into the insurance business with Northwestern, Mass Mutual and Allstate.

 

From 2000 to present Skip has had his own Farmer Insurance Group Agency with his office in Evans Colorado.

 

Over the years Skip has had appointments by 2 Colorado Governor’s. By Governor Vanderhoof to the Colorado Commission on Children and Youth and by Governor Lamm as Advisory Board State Insurance Comp. Fund.
